Automating Creative Asset Management with the Blockchain

There are (finally) some practical, real-world use cases for the blockchain emerging and enterprises would be wise to monitor their gradual development.

Po.et, for example, a blockchain-based open universal ledger for digital creative assets (which Website Magazine covered several months ago), recently announced the release of Frost, an open API and set of developer tools that will allow content publishers and developers to more easily register creative works on the blockchain.

Using Frost, users can interact with the Po.et Network with a basic username and password, instead of running a full Po.et node. The API will also enable new integrations and decentralized applications including a WordPress plug-in.  The plugin will allow bloggers and publishers to timestamp their works within the WordPress content management system automatically. With upwards of 30 perent of all websites currently using the open-source content management system, perhaps the age of blockchain (in the real world) has arrived.

“Today’s media landscape is fragmented and reliant on manual processes,” said Tyler Evans, a member of the Po.et Foundation board. “At Po.et, we set out to build a simple, friendly platform that is intuitive for our users, but also enables a platform for developers to create innovative decentralized media applications.”
